City Chic Nuptials: The Grand March

Soon, it was time for the guests to sit down so we could get started with dinner.

First though, we had to make our big entrance…the Grand March!  If you can’t tell from the pictures, our venue had a loft area that we were able to march down from.  Guests used it during the cocktail hour and we had lounge chairs + couches and an extra bar set-up there.  It was the perfect area to hang out and take it all in!  Here we are right before the start of the Grand March:

Then our DJ started us off.  We did our entrances to the song “Steal My Kisses,” by Ben Harper.  We thought it had a fun beat and was perfect for a Grand March!

First came our parents…

I’m not sure what my dad is doing here but I always laugh and think he’s saying, “Yes, we finally pawned her off on someone!”  Haha!

Then our little people:

Then our ushers:

Then the rest of our wedding party:

Ryan & Kate

Guido & Hayley

Andrew & Beezus
Note:  I realized on my down-the-aisle post that I left them out!  So I went back and fixed it.  So please go back and see how wonderful they looked heading down the aisle at the church!  [Sorry, Beezus!]

Then us!

Scherm0865LNavigating stairs in 4 inch heels is no joke.

With a stop for a kiss of course!

Scherm0866LYou can really see the gold color of my dress in this photo.  I love it!

And then it was on to center stage…

…so we could cut the cake!

Look!  We’re cutting the cake “correctly” —the woman’s hand should not be separated from the knife!

That cake was so good and I had looked forward to it for WEEKS.
Hence, the attack job I’m doing on it here.

And then it was time to chow!  Stay tuned!

****************************************
Missed something?
First I got a mani-pedi with my sister, then I cried.
Next, we headed to church to rehearse.
After that, we had a fiesta-themed rehearsal dinner at a local restaurant.

In the morning, we went to the salon to get our hair done.
Meanwhile, the guys went to a chili contest and got ready at the hotel.
Back in my hotel room, the girls got ready.
Then, I put on my dress and officially became a bride.

Next, we headed to church!
Everything was set and we found out what happened to the missing groomsman.
Then it was finally time to head down the aisle.
The ceremony happened and we got married!
Afterwards, we signed the marriage license and took photos in the sanctuary.
Then, we hopped on our school bus and headed to Lake Park for more photos!

Meanwhile, our guests enjoyed the cocktail hour and all of our reception details.

You’re right — that shot of you two at the bottom of the staircase really does show off the gold color of your dress. It’s gorgeous!

Also…YUM. CAKE. HUNGRY. NOM. Ahem…that cake looks delicious!

  2. Your pictures are great. Loved your venue!

  3. Your reception space was so nice! I love the tall ceilings and architecture. It’s nice you all were able to enter via the staircase. Your cake looked yum!
